SECTION GROWER
We’re seeking a Section Grower—an experienced grower skilled in crop planning, plant maintenance, and pest management. This role involves leading and supervising growing activities to ensure high quality and productivity within the designated product line. We’re looking for a motivated and energetic team member to join us!
Job Duties include:
Plant Growing & Production:
- Manage specific growing areas (e.g., annuals, perennials) including tasks like watering, pruning, and fertilizing.
- Supervise Assistant Growers.
- Ensure high-quality products for sale.
- Improve processes to boost productivity.
Plant Maintenance & Protection:
- Manage plant protection and pest/disease control in designated growing areas.
- Develop and implement effective pest management strategies.
- Train team members in pesticide safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain proper chemical storage.
Availability Management:
- Update crop status using SBI Growing Software.
- Maintain accurate Availability List for customer orders.
Inventory Accuracy:
- Manage inventory of crops and supplies.
- Conduct quarterly inventory counts and updates.
Production Planning:
- Plan production numbers for different seasons.
- Collaborate with Growing Operations Manager on production plans.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 1+ years’ experience in a Growing position with similar duties.
- Technology: Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Keep, relevant translating apps, and SBI Growing Software (or similar growing software program).
ASSISTANT GROWER
We’re seeking an Assistant Grower, who works with and under the guidance of a Section Grower, and is responsible for ensuring the production, protection, and maintenance of high-quality and profitable plants for the company. We’re searching for a driven and enthusiastic team member to join us!
Job Duties include:
Plant Growing & Production:
- Collaborate with Section Grower and the Growing Operations & Nursery Supervisor to manage and execute growing needs for specific growing area. Effectively prioritize and organize tasks to enhance productivity.
- Perform key plant cultural care activities including watering, fertilizing, spraying, weeding, pruning, moving plants and covering/uncovering greenhouses.
- Train and supervise Millcreek staff on essential plant care practices
Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with Section Growers to manage inventory and track plant readiness.
- Assist with SBI software tasks such as updating comments, inventory quantities, and crop status.
- Accurately assign plant heights and grades based on ongoing monitoring and feedback from staff.
Plant Maintenance & Protection:
- Assist with plant protection and pest management, including scouting for pests, developing control strategies, and applying chemical treatments safely.
- Ensure compliance with pesticide safety regulations, including record keeping, storage, handling, application, and disposal, and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe chemical storage area while adhering to all Federal, State, and Local safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in a Growing position with similar duties.
- Technology: Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Keep, relevant translating apps, and SBI Growing Software (or similar growing software program).

Millcreek is a wholesale grower committed to supplying high-quality container-grown perennials, herbs, ornamental grasses, annuals and shrubs. We have a wonderful team of people who work hard every day to supply a top notch product to our customers, who include independent retail garden centers, farm markets, landscapers, municipalities, and public horticulture entities. We are located in Ostrander, Ohio, just 10 minutes north of Dublin and 30 minutes north of the O.S.U. campus. We are within a brief commute from many of the Columbus suburbs including Powell, Marysville, Delaware and the growing area of Jerome Village.
What we produce and how we do it:
Each year, we produce more than one million finished plants in facilities that include over 95 greenhouses covering 192,000 square feet. In addition, our Propagation Department produces over 700,000 starter plants per year. We are equipped with a 3,200 square foot automated Production Facility with two transplanting lines to maximize efficiency in our plant production. We began using our newly built Shipping Facility in the Spring 2020.
