PROFILE
Ryan joined Millcreek in the spring of 2023 as a seasonal worker, gaining experience across shipping, production, propagation, and the nursery. While working seasonally, he attended Clark State College and, in spring 2024, graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in the Horticulture Industry.
After graduating, Ryan transitioned into a full-time role as a Growing Coordinator in the Annuals, Shrubs, and Propagation departments. His passion for plants quickly became evident, and in July 2024, he was promoted to Assistant Grower of Annuals and Shrubs. With continued dedication, growing expertise, and a deep enthusiasm for horticulture, Ryan advanced again in Summer 2025 with his promotion to Section Grower.
In December 2025, Ryan further strengthened his professional credentials by earning his Greenhouse Section Grower Certification through AmericanHort. This rigorous program, taught by experienced horticulture professionals, equips growers with advanced technical skills, business knowledge, and the scientific understanding needed to improve plant health, optimize workflows, and enhance overall production efficiency.
Ryan’s love for plants began at a young age, helping his mom and grandma in their flower gardens. That early curiosity grew into a lifelong passion—he now enjoys gardening at home, growing cut flowers, vegetables, annuals, and perennials, and is always exploring new plants and techniques. Before joining Millcreek, Ryan also worked in landscaping, where he developed skills in design, maintenance, teamwork, and customer service.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys painting, hiking, designing floral arrangements, and—of course—plant shopping (because you can never have too many plants!). One day, he hopes to breed cut flowers and develop a new hybrid variety. His creativity shines in the stunning, hand-crafted arrangements he often brings in to brighten his space at Millcreek.
