At Millcreek Gardens, we believe our people are the heart of everything we do—and few embody that more than Jen Mackan, OCNT our Analytics Specialist & Business Office Supervisor. This year, we are thrilled to celebrate an incredible milestone: Jen’s 30th anniversary with the Millcreek team!

A Career Rooted in Growth

Jen joined Millcreek in 1995 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from The Ohio State University, majoring in Floriculture with a minor in Agricultural Business. Over the past three decades, she has worn many hats and contributed to nearly every aspect of our business—from production and propagation to shipping and logistics.

Back in the day, Jen was filling soil hoppers by hand with 3-cubic-foot bags of soil—long before today’s large-scale 60-cubic-foot hoist system. She’s managed our shipping department twice, helped in plant propagation, and supported production during the fall and winter seasons. In 2008, she transitioned to the office, where she began applying her analytical mind and attention to detail to the behind-the-scenes work that keeps Millcreek running smoothly.

A Leader Behind the Scenes

By 2010, Jen was promoted to Program and Logistics Director, playing a central role in transitioning Millcreek to new growing software that revolutionized our order and inventory management. Her tech savvy and deep operational knowledge have made her our in-house software and Excel expert too!

She oversees everything from entering and finalizing orders, managing crop status and shipping logistics, to creating customized pricing and pre-pricing labels for our retail customers. Jen also compiles the content for our online catalog and helps maintain website data—another example of how her fingerprints are found across every part of our organization.

In 2013, Jen was promoted to Business Office Supervisor, and her role continues to evolve with the needs of our business. She now serves as Analytics Specialist & Business Office Supervisor, where she leads the office team, manages shipping schedules, supports payroll, and helps guide day-to-day operations with experience, calm, and clarity.

More Than a Team Member—A Pillar of Millcreek

Jen’s contributions go far beyond her title. Her institutional knowledge, unwavering dedication, and behind-the-scenes leadership have been critical to Millcreek’s success and continued growth. Whether she’s solving a software glitch, planning truck routes, or helping a coworker troubleshoot an issue, Jen is always ready to step in with a solution—and a smile.

In her free time, Jen enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, relaxing with their pets, making beaded jewelry, and reading a good book.
