This Week's Star Grower & Must-Have Plant: Natalie Geuy & Echinacea p. Magnus
Natalie first worked at Millcreek as a seasonal employee on our shipping team in the Spring of 2014. She then completed a summer internship with us before moving to work full time in Propagation. And now, after working with another wholesale grower for 10 years, Natalie has returned to Millcreek to be our Section Grower of Propagation.
Natalie graduated from OSU in 2016 with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science, with an emphasis in Horticulture and a minor in Entomology. With this expertise, and a strong interest in Integrated Pest Management, Natalie has brought new insight to our IPM programs, blending conventional pesticide use with “softer” disease control methods, such as beneficial insects. Natalie is also a Certified Pesticide Applicator and enjoys researching new techniques and chemistries to lessen impacts on pollinator and native insects.
In her free time, Natalie enjoys spending time with her adult children, reading, playing video games, relaxing with her cats, creating elaborate pastries and desserts, and traveling with her partner, Brian, in his Cessna 182.

Echinacea, also known as coneflowers, are a classic native perennial that are drought tolerant, deer resistant, and attract pollinators and wildlife. Echinacea p. ‘Magnus’ is known for its large flowers with beautiful deep pink petals and bright orange “cone” centers that add a splash of color to the garden. These flowers are a 2 for 1 deal in the landscape—its cheerful blooms are made complete by all the wildlife, such as goldfinches and butterflies, that come to say hello.
